Williamsburg Waterfront

Kent Avenue, Brooklyn, NY

Master Plan

1.7 million ft2

The Williamsburg Waterfront in Brooklyn, New York is a master plan that takes all the desirable aspects of Manhattan – streets and blocks, prevalent building forms, density, mixed land-use, efficient transportation – adapting and refining them for this waterfront development. The concept for the site, situated overlooking the East River and Lower Manhattan, was to improve the waterfront and provide a variety of spaces for the public such as lunchtime sunning areas, an esplanade, public gathering places, and quiet interior courts.
