640 Broadway, New York, NY
The historic building designed by DeLomos & Cordes and built in the 1890s is located in the NOHO Historic District at the crossroads of Soho, Nolita and Greenwich Village. This project encompassed the full exterior restoration of the historical building façade, including the cornices, doors, and pendants. 640 Broadway is a Classical Revival style building, designed for manufacturing but has since been renovated for residential use. The main residential entrance proposal draws from the existing historic elements of the building and district, including masonry entrance scrolls, cornices, custom wood door with integrated frame lighting and intercom, as well as bracket signage and etched transom glass indicating the address of the residential entrance.
